Ok I must admit this movie has a great story to it, The Film is about Eddie Hawkins, called Hudson Hawk (played by Bruce Willis) has just been released from ten years of prison and is planning to spend the rest of his life honestly. But then the crazy Mayflower couple blackmail him to steal some of the works of Leonardo da Vinci. If he refuses, they threaten to kill his friend Tommy. But don&#39;t be fooled you may be thinking this is going to be a great action movie, but trust me this is far from it. This movie is more like your Naked Gun Style with Lesley Nelson. I myself think this movies storyline would have made a great action movie which is Bruce Willis&#39;s speciality. Overall great Storyline but would have been better as an action movie I just cant see Willis as a Singing Cat Burglar.<br/><br/>I recommend this movie to anyone who liked the Naked Gun Series and cheesy comedies with one-liners. But Don&#39;t Get me wrong I did still enjoy watching this movie but I still think this movie could have been a fabulous Action Movie. Over All this movie was quite a let down in my books. But for some reason I still seemed to enjoy it I even laughed a few times.<br/><br/>4/10 (For the Nice Storyline and Bruce Willis)
&quot;Hudson Hawk&quot; is an underrated but not necessarily good action-comedy starring Bruce Willis as a master cat burglar who finds himself embroiled in a plot to steal several of Leonardo da Vinci&#39;s inventions for the purposes of creating a device which turns lead into gold. Seriously.<br/><br/>The film is an update of those farcical James Bond rip-offs and comedic spy movies of the 1960s, a fact which it alludes to with the presence of actor James Coburn, who starred in the &quot;Our Man Flint&quot; franchise. The film&#39;s silly, but works thanks to some ridiculously baroque villains, a totally insane plot, several song-and-dance routines and a slapstick tone which treats everything with cartoon logic. Bruce Willis was the big creative force behind the picture, kick-starting, producing and co-writing the film. It was directed by Michael Lehmann, who directed the very good &quot;Heathers&quot; some years earlier. The film&#39;s mix of Looney Tunes juvenilia and R rated swearing is fairly unique. It was a notorious box-office bomb.<br/><br/>7/10 – Worth one viewing.
Merely airheaded where it should be lighthearted, Hudson Hawk offers a klutzy, charmless hero, and wallows dully in limp slapstick and lowest common denominator crudeness.
Pick up a copy of co-star <a href="/name/nm0001290/">Richard E. Grant</a>&#39;s book &quot;With Nails: the film diaries of Richard E Grant&quot;. There&#39;s a section about <a href="/name/nm0000246/">Bruce Willis</a> and Hudson Hawk. All British versions are missing a brief close-up scene showing Hawk breaking into a room, probably due to the fear of imitation.
